One of the live projects organised by Nottingham Trent University invited students to design a concept for Boss Design group - one of the leading designers of office furniture and manufacturers of high quality office seating, upholstery and tables. Conducting questionnaires and observing how people are sitting in work spaces inspired me to develop a seating that accommodates different postures and users.

 

Exploring a development of the bean bag seemed ideal as the polyester balls inside a bean bag move around to provide a perfect mould for each sitting position or body proportion.

The frame of the seating is made of stem bent European woods. The cushion is cut to a shape that keeps the upright position of the user. The furniture concept offers a solution for individual, pair or collaborative work and ideally situated in offices, libraries, waiting rooms and hotel receptions.
